“The garden is a picture for Easter”

Magnolia stellata

Lana Borrett from Docton Mill Gardens and Tea Room has written this post on the way their beautiful gardens are unfolding this spring.

"Gardens are having a slow start this year but Easter has the promise of magnificent spring blooms.

The carpets of’ Red Devon daffodils’ and the Magnolia ‘tripetala’ covered with large cream flower heads are out to greet visitors on arrival.

The huge magnolia kobus is flowering freely as are the stellatas in the herbaceous borders.  Daffodils abound, as do muscaris, primulas and polyanthus of many shades.

Fortunately we have the most beautiful valley landscapes and water systems to set off our planting and even on windy cooler days the garden is a protected haven to enjoy.

Our tea room has a full menu, served from 10am – 5pm. Do come and enjoy our locally sourced produce, the very best in generous cream teas and mouth watering cakes.

We look forward to meeting you."
