Devon is famous for cream teas and Docton Mill Gardens and Tea Room is no exception. Our gardens are Gold medal-winning and we also have a beautiful, award-winning tea room, supplying local, home grown produce (including, salads and a variety of desserts) and, of course, cream teas.
We’ve been voted Best Cream Tea and Best Tea Room in North Devon numerous times, have been featured in the national press and Visit Britain’s magazine (as an editor’s choice) and take great pride in the quality and setting of our tea room. We love our gardens to be as natural and as beautiful as possible and we take the same approach to our food. Much of what we serve is home grown and the rest is locally sourced.
Our locally sourced seafood platter and Brixham crab sandwiches are a great favourite with visitors, as are the salads with homemade chutneys, all made to order. These can be eaten on the terrace overlooking the garden. Or, on inclement days, in our tea-room, which has a lovely woodburning. And of course a Devon tea room would not be complete without cream teas, the scones being made locally in one of the farmhouses, as is the delicious Italian style ice cream.
We are open from April 1st until October 5th, 11am to 5pm. Entry to the tea room is free, there is a charge of £5 for entrance to the gardens, under 18’s are free. Come and enjoy sumptious food, made and served with care in a spectacularly beautiful setting. Last teas at 4.30pm. We look forward to welcoming you.
