Each year, Docton Mill opens its glorious gardens and tearoom to raise money for extremely worthy charities as part of the National Garden Scheme and Lana Borrett has rung to tell us about this year’s event.
"Our big fundraising event this year is this Sunday 12th June. Docton Mill will be open as usual from 10am to 5pm and all garden proceeds plus a generous contribution from our tea room will go to the National Garden Scheme.
The NGS raises money for Macmillan Nurses, Marie Curie and Parkinson’s UK, to name just a few of their charities.
Docton Mill is at its prime in mid-June, the borders are inspirational. Our tea room will be making salads and ciabatta rolls, filled with fresh, local produce and a wonderful selection of cakes, including gluten-free, and, of course, cream teas.
Do come and have a great time in the garden and support an extremely worthy cause."
Entry to the tea room is free, for the gardens it’s £4.50 for adults, £4.25 for OAPs and U18s are free. Well behaved dogs welcome. See www.doctonmill.co.uk or call 01237 441369
