Three beautiful barn conversions (sleeping 4 – 8) make up Pattard, just half a mile from Hartland and situated in rolling countryside within easy reach of the coast.
The Granary, Linhay Cottage and the Stable are all light and airy, well appointed and sympathetically converted: wooden floors, vaulted ceilings, exposed roof trusses, all in original oak blended with new oak from Pattard’s own grounds. All are centrally heated but also have additional stoves. Across the track is a 2 acre meadow perfect for games and for children to play in. Pattard is surrounded by wildlife but in particular the Granary conversion incorporated a barn owl nesting site, so throughout summer the owls can be seen hunting for their young and coaxing them into their first flights.
The Granary sleeps 8 in two doubles and two twins, with two bathrooms. The lounge and dining area is a 22ft semi-circular space with comfy sofas and chairs, a wood burner, wooden floors, exposed roof trusses, a large dining table, TV and DVD player. The upstairs rooms have tall dormer windows to enjoy the views and the kitchen is fitted with dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and much else. Outside is a patio area with BBQ.
Linhay Cottage sleeps 4 in one double and one twin, with a power-shower room and was once the grain store. The vaulted-ceiling kitchen has dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer and washer-dryer and the lounge has exposed roof trusses, a woodburner, TV, DVD and patio doors leading out to the pretty patio area.
The Stable sleeps 6 in one double and two twin rooms, with two bathrooms and is best situated for viewing the barn owls. The lovely kitchen is fully fitted with dishwasher, washer-dryer, fridge-freezer, microwave and so on, and the comfortable, pretty lounge has a TV, DVD and patio doors leading to the sunny patio.
Just half a mile away is Hartland village, with three pubs for eating, including the Michelin-mentioned Hart Inn, a fish and chip shop, bakery, general store and of course the potteries, artist galleries and workshops. In every direction there are wonderful walks, and the spectacular coast and SW Coastpath is just two miles away. Nearby are Clovelly, Rosemoor, a host of family attractions and activities such as golf, outdoor adventure and watersports, plus the long sandy beaches of Bude and Westward Ho!.
